About Us
Guiding Aspirations into Achievements: Our Mission, Vision, and Goals
Mission
An educational center which strives to provide a well–ordered and secured atmosphere for basic, secondary and tertiary learners for a holistic child/youth development.
Vision
No. 1 major brand as far as academic excellence and total training is concerned.
GOAL
Our goal is to reach as many children and youths as possible in various institutions, communities, regions and countries in order to create a model for learning, researching and sharing ideas. These ideas will then be linked with hands-on projects that others will emulate nationally and internationally.
Our Story
CHILD DREAM FOUNDATION (CDF) is a not-for-profit organization established in 2018 as a youth-led, youth empowerment edtech hub working to improve quality education in Ghana and by extension Africa at large.
We partner to provide a well- ordered and secure atmosphere for basic, secondary and tertiary schools in Ghana. Strengthening the philosophical and social foundations of schools through Literacy development, Innovations in Educational systems, Continuous teacher training and support and Promoting the SDG’s through Student Empowerment Summits, Incubations and Accelerations programs for a holistic child/youth development.
Our service-learning projects taught us that education has extraordinary power to collectively alter the course of life, and that extreme poverty, inadequate educational materials and instructor’s coupled with lack of infrastructure make it challenging for young people to do extremely well.
Our Impact
Since 2018, we have been empowering children and youth with innovative solutions in Edtech.
Empowered with new skills and knowledge
Why We Are So Passionate About CDF
- Because more than 793 million adults in the world (1 out of 4) cannot read. Of those, 64% are women and 122 million are girls.
- In Ghana, nearly 623,500 children of primary school age are still not enrolled in primary school and one out of four children in the kindergarten age range (from four to five years of age) are not in preschool. According to the 2010 national census, 20 percent of children with physical disabilities are not attending school.
- Because UNESCO’s Institute of Statistics determined that Sub Saharan African (SSA) has the highest rate of education exclusion in the world.
- Because 171 million people could be lifted out of poverty if all students in low-income countries left school with basic reading skills and technology skills.
- Because poorly literate individuals are less likely to participate in democratic processes.
- Because a child born to a woman who can read is 50% more likely to survive past the age 5.
- Because 17.1 million additional teachers will be needed in SSA; 6.3 million in primary and 10.8 million in secondary (UNESCO, 2020).
TOOLKITS
These guides were spearheaded by members of the Project Literacy Community of Practice. It was developed through a practitioner-driven, multi-stage process, which included contributions from many individuals and organizations.
Our Partners
CDF works in collaboration with public and private organizations who directly provide coordination, support and evaluation to programs. By doing this we work towards building local capacity and autonomy in programs, so they can more effectively attend local educational needs and be self-sustained.
